Create and Edit Zones

Use Add Zone when the tenant needs a new service area. Use Edit when an existing area needs a boundary, status, carrier, warehouse, or metadata change.

Create Zone form

Basic fields

Zone Name is the readable name shown to admins and operations teams.

Zone Code is the short operational code. Keep it stable and easy to recognize because it can appear in tables, filters, reports, and integrations.

Status can be active or inactive. Active zones are available for new delivery work. Inactive zones are saved but not used for new deliveries.

Population Density can be low, medium, or high. Use it as a planning label for how dense or complex the area is.

Zone Color controls the zone color on the map.

Tags help group zones. Tags are normalized by the system, so keep them short and consistent.

Draw the boundary

Use the map tools to draw the zone boundary. The form supports polygon, rectangle, and circle drawing tools. You can also undo, redo, or delete the current drawing while working.

The boundary is important because delivery availability, zone matching, and zone pricing depend on where the pickup and destination fall on the map.

On the edit page, existing zones are shown for context and the current zone can be adjusted without creating a duplicate.

Internal delivery handling

Leave Internal Enabled on when deliveries in this zone can be handled by the tenant's own drivers, vehicles, and dispatch process.

Turn it off when the zone should not use the internal fleet.

External carrier integration

Turn on External Integration Enabled when the zone can use a third-party carrier.

External integration enabled on Create Zone

When external integration is enabled:

  • Carrier is required.
  • Inbound Enabled allows inbound deliveries from customers to warehouses in this zone through the selected carrier.
  • Outbound Enabled allows outbound deliveries from warehouses to customers in this zone through the selected carrier.
  • Warehouse selects the warehouse used as the hub for this carrier setup.

Warehouse and Prime merchant credentials

If you select a warehouse for external integration, Ondi shows Prime merchant credential fields.

Prime merchant fields after selecting a warehouse

Prime Merchant ID identifies the business in the external carrier integration.

Prime Merchant Password stores the related password for that integration.

When editing a zone, existing credentials may appear locked or masked for security. The password is not resent unless it is changed.

Edit behavior

Editing a zone can affect new delivery work immediately. Review changes carefully before saving, especially:

  • Changing active to inactive.
  • Moving or redrawing the boundary.
  • Turning internal handling on or off.
  • Enabling or disabling external integration.
  • Changing carrier or warehouse settings.

The edit page also includes See Zone Pricing, which opens the pricing connected to the selected zone.
