Pickup & Delivery Orders

Pickup and delivery order illustration

Pickup & Delivery orders cover a fuller workflow: collect the package, optionally stage it through a warehouse, and deliver it to the final destination.

Use this order type when the dispatcher needs one workflow that connects pickup and final delivery behavior.

When To Use Pickup & Delivery

Use Pickup & Delivery when:

  • A package must be collected from one party and delivered to another.
  • The order may need warehouse staging.
  • A replacement or return delivery may be created after completion.
  • Operations need visibility across both pickup and delivery legs.

Warehouse Staging

Pickup & Delivery orders can include a staging warehouse. A staging warehouse is a controlled location used between pickup and delivery.

Use staging when:

  • The package must pass through a warehouse before final delivery.
  • The driver is collecting from one zone and final delivery will happen later.
  • The business requires warehouse scanning, sorting, or transfer.
note

If staging is required, the staging warehouse must be selected before the order can be created. A missing staging warehouse can block order creation.

Replacement Order Option

The order form includes a replacement order option for supported workflows. When this is enabled, the system can create and assign a return/replacement delivery after the driver completes the delivery.

Use this only when the business process requires a planned replacement or reverse movement. Do not enable it for normal one-way deliveries.

  • Staging warehouse, if required.
  • Delivery service and payer type.
  • Payment method and COD amount when applicable.
  • Unit size and package details.

  • Child or return order information in order details.
